Where I live and grew up:
I grew up in a big community in Cape Town known as Mitchells Plain. My parents were forcibly removed out of their communities during the apartheid era and relocated due to the colour of their skin. I was born post-apartheid and this is where my appreciation and gratitude grew. South Africa was officially a democratic society and the sky was the limit for me.
Places I have travelled to:
As a child my parents often took us camping around in Cape Town, along the West Coast or Garden Route. The first time I travelled outside Cape Town was in a coach bus all the way to Pretoria for the South African Defense Force training. I have recently travelled to Phinda Game Reserve in Kwazulu Natal Province in South Africa. This was an exceptional Big 5 game and birding experience together with friendly staff and luxury 5 star service.
My Interest and hobbies:
Since I was 8 years of age it has been my lifelong dream to join the South African Defense Force as a fighter pilot. This is where my passion for travel grew from as I am a bit of an adrenalin junkie, I love meeting new people, exploring new places, interacting with different communities and enjoy outdoor activities. Outside my career in travel, I started music school at the age of 11 as a pianist. Later in my schooling career I adopted guitar as my next favourite instrument and then joined a local jazz band as a singer. My hobbies include soccer, family quality time, and outdoor activities in and around Cape Town, listening to music, concerts, teaching music. Learning new things and meeting new people.
Places of interest:
In Africa: The Okavango Delta in Botswana, The Red dunes in Namibia, Migration in East Africa, Gorilla trek In Rwanda, Jerusalem and Egypt.
Out of Africa: Beach holiday on Fiji Islands, Spain (love this country), Italy and Brazil.
Why I love what I do:
Tourism brings people together whether you 8 hours behind or 1 hour ahead, it creates the opportunity to learn from each other and provide a service to meet a need or a want but the best part to create a memorable life changing experience. My passion lies in this industry especially as an African specialist because Africa is a destination that you can’t visit just once, there’s always a reason to come back for more.
