“In Botswana’s Okavango Delta, we came upon a mother leopard desperately searching for her cub. As is normal for female leopards, she had left the cub in the den the previous night so that she could hunt a meal. But, when she returned the following morning, the cub had disappeared. We followed her with the vehicle for over an hour, watching with bated breath as she wandered the surrounding area and repeatedly called to her cub. I cannot describe our great relief as mom and cub were reunited when a fluffy bundle of fur came bounding out from where he had been hiding in a ditch – probably from a hungry hyena. It was an unforgettable moment that fills me with joy whenever I think of it.”
