“My first safari experience was the most memorable and moving for me, and made me fall even deeper in love with Africa. My colleagues and I were on a game drive at Phinda Game Reserve in South Africa and we came across a huge herd of elephants at a waterhole. One in particular stirred something in me – it was a female tearing branches from an almost leafless tree and feeding them to the calf hidden behind her. It was then that I realised that animals are so much like us – there’s no love like mother’s love.”
