RUN WILD KENYA: A RUNNER’S FEEDBACK

Louise recently traveled with us and ran in the Mara, this is what she had to say about her experience:

“As a road runner, the prospect of not being able to run for a five day stretch is always daunting… all the more so when in the middle of training for a marathon. That’s always been the only negative for me of a bush holiday; although some runners might be able to settle for a treadmill, most crave the outdoors.

Angama Mara is uniquely placed to offer bush holidays for runners. You have, on your doorstep, a safe area to run in with a staff member. You even have an airstrip for interval training, and Kenyan runners have cachet right now for obvious reasons!

You can use a communal space such as around the pool for a guided post run stretch, and in-room sports massages later in the day. Runners are used to getting up very early to train, so early runs should not interfere with game drives. With such a package, all my running mates will be clamoring to come!

Thanks again for such a fantastic experience.”
