Mont Rochelle is the latest addition to Virgin Limited Edition’s luxury collection of hotels and opened in September 2014. In an area internationally renowned for its winelands and stunning scenery, Mont Rochelle boasts a unique hilltop setting and private vineyard in the heart of Franschhoek and just 45 minutes from downtown Cape Town. Mont Rochelle has 22 rooms including six suites all arranged around the main building. There are four Shiraz Rooms with king-size beds and all feature courtyard or valley views. Our six Merlot Rooms are larger than our Shiraz Rooms and also boast king-size beds with valley views. The six Cabernet Rooms include a private terrace overlooking the valley. There are also four even more spacious Pinotage Suites which each feature a separate lounge. Finally, guests staying in our two Cap Classique Suites will enjoy a lounge, a private terrace and their own plunge pool.
The Manor House offers the perfect setting for a private family or friends breakaway; the villa has 4 suites and a bunk room for up to 6 children. Children of all ages are welcome at Mont Rochelle and accommodated in our suite categories. The grounds at Mont Rochelle cover 39 hectares (about 100 acres) and you’re welcome to go exploring. A favourite activity for many of our guests is picnicking on the estate – our kitchen can arrange a well-stocked picnic basket with a chilled bottle of wine (or two!). There are two restaurants, a cosy bar, a spa, a gym and a heated outdoor pool. That’s not forgetting a 37 hectare vineyard and wine cellar of course.
