Drifting awake to bird song is just one of the myriad of breathtakingly beautiful bush experiences that await you at Ongava Lodge.
From the slope on which the lodge is built, there are expansive views in every direction with the vastness, changeable colours and dynamic panoramas for which Namibia is famous all around you.
Ongava Lodge is a gateway to both the private Ongava Reserve and Etosha National Park featuring almost all of the characteristic wildlife of the area, with plains game such as antelope, zebra and giraffe, the big sights such as elephant and lion. Ten of Namibia’s 14 endemic bird species have been recorded in the 340 species seen on Ongava and the reserve holds one of the largest rhino custodianships in the country. It is one of the few private game reserves in southern Africa where you can see both black and white rhino, especially when expertly tracked by the experienced guides.
The area is particularly exciting in the dry season when animals congregate around any water source in huge numbers – some of the best sightings have been at the waterhole just in front of the lodge. Ongava provides vistas, luxury, and game encounters in the beauty and bounty of Namibian wilderness.
