The oxbow-shaped Kings Pool Lagoon provides a beautiful outlook for this premier Wilderness Safaris camp in a peaceful corner of the Linyanti Wildlife Reserve bordering Chobe National Park. The camp and lagoon are named for King Leopold of Sweden who enjoyed a rustic honeymoon here in the mid-1900’s, long before the area became a top safari destination. Like the rest of the Chobe region, the reserve is known for the incredible number of elephants and spectacular birding on offer. Other game is abundant, such as impala, lechwe, kudu, zebra, giraffe, buffalo and bushbuck, and their predators: lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog and spotted hyena.
Nine luxurious and well-appointed tents (including one family unit) with their own private plunge pools, double walk-in showers and romantic four-poster beds allow guests to enjoy the peace and quiet of this incredible location, while the spacious main lodge area set on expansive raised decks is the ideal spot for more convivial moments. When you can tear yourself away from the view, there are twice daily game drives, river cruises on a Victorian-style barge and two secluded hides for getting up close to the wildlife.
