San Camp

The striking white campaign tents of the San Camp sit serenely in a reef of palm trees in a private concession on the edge of the Makgadikgadi Pans. Luxurious and romantic, the camp accommodates a maximum of 12 guests in six large tented suites raised off the ground on slightly elevated wooden platforms, each with private facilities. A veranda in front of each tent offers expansive views of the stark salt pans and game-rich open savanna.

Activities include four-wheel-drive safaris, spotlit night drives, yoga and meditation, a morning with the camp’s habituated meerkat family, quad biking across the pans, horseback riding and a day spent with the local Zu/’hoasi Bushmen. Closer to home base, afternoon tea is also a huge highlight – think mini tomato tarts with goats cheese and parsley, chocolate melting moments and the best brownies in the bush!

San Camp only operates during the dry season from April to October.
