Located at the foot of the Oloololo Escarpment on the western border of the Masai Mara Reserve in Kenya, Kichwa Tembo is superbly appointed on a private concession leased from Maasai landlords. The lodge’s name is derived from Swahili meaning ‘Head of the Elephant’.
Widely recognised as Kenya’s best-loved safari camp, Kichwa Tembo Masai Mara Tented Camp offers spectacular views of the Masai Mara’s game-filled plains and the Sabaringo River. Located on the path of the Great Migration, the camp is well appointed to allow guests to be a part of this annual phenomenon.
The camp comprises forty spacious tents, twelve of them luxury suites. All tents are en-suite and have their own viewing decks from which one can easily spot abundant game in the sprawling Masai Mara or the river. The camp also has a large swimming pool as well as a curio shop and comfortable guest areas.
