Mpumalanga Province

Mpumalanga (Zulu name for “the place where the sun rises”) is a province in eastern South Africa, bordering the nations of Swaziland and Mozambique. It embraces the southern half of Kruger National Park, a huge nature reserve with abundant wildlife including big game. The province’s iconic Blyde River Canyon, among the world’s largest, is known as a green canyon because of its subtropical foliage.

UNMISSABLE EXPERIENCES:

  • Rhino Notching Experience
Experience the rare opportunity to participate in a rhino notching experience at a Private Game Reserve. Witness the darting of a rhino, and assist the veterinary team in tag the sleeping rhino’s ear for research and security monitoring, before releasing it back into the wild. Rhinos are in need of ear notches and we are inviting groups of up to eight guests each (sharing one vehicle) to participate in this extraordinary experience. You will play an active role in the day’s adventure. As the veterinary team flies overhead in a helicopter in search of the rhino, guests will follow in hot pursuit with an expert ranger in an open 4×4 safari vehicle.
  • 3-Night Yoga Safari Experience at a private Villa
There is no better place on earth to experience Yoga than in the heart of the African Wilderness. Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned Yogi, this experience will bring you close to nature and relax your mind, body and spirit. The combination of Yoga, safari, bush walks and spa treatments align perfectly with amazing meals, prepared with seasonal local produce by your private chef.
  • Walking Safaris in the Kruger National Park
In 1978 SANParks offered visitors to the park the opportunity to walk in the Kruger National Park with armed guides which proved to be a massive success in ensuing years. Rhino Walking Safaris identified the need for a similar opportunity to be offered to discerning clients wanting to be close to nature, but with more of a ‘glamping’ feel.
