Mnemba Island, three miles off the north-eastern coast of Zanzibar is one of the most romantic and exclusive coral reef islands in the world. Mnemba is a private island which is inhabited only by guests and the lodge staff and its waters are inhabited by phenomenally diverse marine life. It is the only conservation area in Zanzibar for the highly endangered green turtles and is also their breeding ground.
This exclusive island getaway comprises ten luxurious palm-frond bandas (African-style chalets) nestled serenely in a tropical beach forest. Each banda has private access to the immaculate white beach and is en-suite with a private veranda and a beach sala with traditional Zanzibari sunbeds for a perfect African vacation. Fresh fish and seafood is served at lunch and dinner and weather permitting, dinner is always served on the beach. Activities at Mnemba Island Lodge include snorkelling, windsurfing, kayaking, fly-fishing and scuba diving through a PADI dive school.
