THE EXPERIENCE
From 4 hours of walking daily to 400 thread-count cotton sheets; this is a trip that encompasses both extremes of African safaris.
Begin by experiencing the African wilderness on foot and immersing yourself in nature. As your consciousness tunes into the wild, you’ll start to absorb all the beauty and grandeur of the African bush, in the company of magnificent creatures. Engage all your senses as you hike along the age-old elephant paths of the Kruger Lowveld accompanied by experienced guides, and the bush will start to reveal its smaller mysteries: birdlife, plants, smaller mammal and reptiles. It’s like having your eyes open for the first time. Without being overly exerting, this is the perfect balance of being outdoors and relaxation, as the everyday majesty of the wild unfolds all around you.

There’s nothing like feeling you’ve really earned it to make genuine luxury all that more enjoyable. Singita Lebombo Lodge is one of the top private lodges located within a majestic wilderness setting in the iconic Kruger Park Game Reserve, and is the perfect way to counterpoint the walking safari. It comprises 15 secluded suites, which are the epitome of elegant comfort. Here you can ask the knowledgeable game guides to find any animals you’d particularly like to see on your daily game drives. This area is particularly famous for its excellent big cat sightings. And, if you’re really lucky, you’ll make it in Quelia season. The Red-billed Quelia is a bird weighing just 25gms but it is the most populace species on the continent. Their mating season is one of the more breath-taking natural phenomena that you’ll ever see. As the world’s most abundant wild bird species, colonies include millions of pairs that take to the air, maneuvering as a single unit, changing direction simultaneously. They put on a coordinated aerial display that is truly amazing to observe and one of nature’s most colourful displays of love and courtship; providing an unparalleled sighting.
